Historically, agricultural packing companies across California printed colorful, stylized lithograph labels to brand their wooden shipping crates and attract buyers at wholesale markets. Key Details of the Label Subject: A portrait of Confederate General Robert E. Lee framed in gold.Grower Association: Produced for the Anaheim Community Growers based in Anaheim, California (Orange County). Technical Stamp: Features a small "Brogdex" logo on the right, which was a protective paraffin wax treatment used by packers to reduce fruit decay and shrinkage during transport. |
